Jackson General Hospital is accepting applications for all candidates seeking future job opportunities in any position.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC):
Providing expert level skills in abstracting information from physician, electronic medical records to support accurate coding, generally in the physician practice/clinic setting.  To perform this task, the candidate must be certified, demonstrate proficiency in ICD-10.

Review and utilize the coded information necessary to integrate coding, reimbursement rule changes, regulations, and issues regarding rural clinic coding compliance. Ensuring coding in a timely manner that results from the coding process for reimbursement purpose. Demonstrated knowledge of third party billing procedures and applications and understanding of various types of insurance. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred. Ability to work efficiently in a friendly, professional manner with the general public and occasionally handle the hostile or disgruntled patient, great customer service skills. Understanding of electronic billing, maintaining logs/reporting to various regulatory agencies.

Requirements: Must be a Certified Coder with a current certificate for Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Experience coding in a physician practice preferred. Excellent communication and office skills.
