Pulmonary Rehabilitation may benefit people who have COPD, emphysema, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, lung cancer and pre and post lung transplant. The program is simple and powerful. It has three basic steps:
A complete medical history and physical evaluation with tests that include a full diagnostic PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to measure breathing capacity.
Education for patients and family members regarding pulmonary conditions, controlling symptoms, using medications and oxygen appropriately.
Monitored and supervised exercise therapy to improve muscle conditioning, heart fitness and breathing.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a 12-week program offered for patients under the guidance of licensed Respiratory Therapists and Medical Director The program is offered at Jackson General in the Respiratory Therapy Department.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Staff under the Medical Direction of Dr. John Snyder is here to help you achieve improved breathing. Our goal is to help restore your ability to accomplish more of what you desire to do every day.
